There is plenty of careers guidance, advice and support for Sixth Form students during both Years 12 & 13.

Careers interviews – one to one advice and guidance on a self-referral basis on the following:

  • Choosing a Degree and how to research
  • The UCAS application process
  • Individual help with Personal statements
  • Studying Abroad
  • Taking a Gap year
  • Employment and Apprenticeships options
  • Volunteering and work experience
  • Mock interviews for University or Employment

Group lunchtime workshops for Year 12 on the following Degree topics:

  • Nursing and Midwifery
  • Business, Economics and IT
  • Teaching Primary and Secondary
  • Engineering
  • Environmental/Surveying/Conservation
  • Law
  • Other health related Professions
  • Psychology and Criminology
  • Medicine/Dentistry/Vet Science

Group workshops for Year 13 on Alternatives to Higher Education:

  • Employment/Apprenticeship options/ CV and job search/Volunteering/Gap year

Talks and Visits for Year 12 to support Higher Education/Employment and Gap year choices including:

  • Talk on Preparing and writing a good Personal statement
  • Visit to a HE Fair
  • Visits to Health profession seminars
